The Reason for this Site

This page is dedicated to an amazing, young woman of God who has battled with Lyme Disease for the past 3 1/2 years.  The American Lyme Disease Foundation defines LD as a multisystem inflammatory disease that affects the skin in its early, localized stage, and spreads to the joints and nervous system.

I have created this site for my best friend and sister, Katrice Hernandez, in the hopes of building a network of people who will stand in prayer with her as she battles this awful disease.  I am also standing in faith that through this site, some of Katrice’s medical expenses will be paid for by generous donations of those who feel led to give.

Katrice currently sees a Lyme Disease specialist in Redwood City, CA.  The cost of her visits along with her antibiotics and supplements are not covered under her health insurance.  Katrice incurs these costs at her own expense on top of paying rent, bills and basic costs of living.  She has had to max out credit cards buying medicine that can sometimes total up to $800 for one bottle.  She has now reached a point in which she is no longer able to pay for her treatment on her own without going into further debt. 

This site  has been set up to collect funds to go directly toward Katrice’s medical bills and to help support her future treatment so that she may be healed of this horrible disease.  Katrice did not ask me to do this and, if you know her well, she never would. If you are not able to give, all I ask is that you join with us in prayer for Katrice’s recovery from Lyme Disease.

Let’s give of ourselves a selfless love that Katrice lives her life by everyday.
